Where to Stay in Nerja

Choose from traditional villas to ultra-modern apartments overlooking the sea. And if you don’t fancy lifting a finger, then check in to one of many hotels.

Location and Accommodation Guide

Staying in Nerja offers a range of different holiday types. Depending on what kind of trip you are booking, you will find excellent accommodation to suit your needs.

At the bottom of the page, you will see some of the main areas that you might consider staying in, however Nerja isn’t particularly big and a walk from one of the outer lying areas to the centre of Nerja will only take around 20 minutes. So while you might want to be close to all of the shops and restaurants, staying on the outskirts really isn’t that problematic unless a member of your party has mobility issues.

And while you might have your heart set on staying in the centre of town itself, you might find that more appropriate accommodation lies just outside. So perhaps the first question you need to answer is not where to stay in Nejra, it should be what type of accommodation is best to stay in?

Your own particular requirements will dictate this, but below is an overview of the types of available accommodation and where you’re going to find it.

Self-Catering Villas & Apartments in Nerja

Nerja offers a wealth of self-catering options where you have the luxury of staying in your own villa or apartment in one of the popular “residential” areas. Many have the added bonus of private/shared pools, so you don’t always have to make your way to the beach when you fancy a little dip. One of my biggest recommendations is to look at somewhere like El Capistrano Village, a mere 20 minute walk from the centre of Nerja.

When staying in Nerja, some of the most useful websites to book self-catering accommodation are:

Hotels in Nerja

If your stay in Nerja is relaxation and not having to lift a finger, then there are plenty of clean and well-equipped hotels that will give you everything you need.

As with any destination, Nerja offers holidaymakers an abundance of choice to suit different lifestyles and budgets. The most prestigious hotel is the Hotel Balcon de Europa, as it sits right on the promenade leading to, yes you guessed it, the Balcon de Europa.

However there are other hotels where you can stay which offer around the same in terms of facilities but at 50% of the price – but you can’t put a price on that view!

Many of the small hotels in Nerja town don’t have swimming pools, and those that do may just have the rooftop ones which are more for cooling off than swimming. However, with a choice of gorgeous beaches within easy walking distance, you can pick up a great hotel deal if a pool isn’t on your list of must haves during your stay.
